The idea of working from home, having that kind of solopreneur lifestyle is a dream of many, many people. So, here I wanted to share why a niche blog online is a better way to build your lifestyle business, and I would know because I’ve done it, with three of them.
I blog by the sea. I blog in a forest while camping. Heck, I’ve been known to blog while I am fishing, ha! Either way, earning an excellent living, or a simple living that has the potential for growth but, satisfies, for now, is entirely possible through a niche blog today.
Let’s look at how you can grow a niche blog and lifestyle business that wrecks you and makes you successfully unemployable…
What is a “lifestyle business” in the first place?
Well, simply put;
A lifestyle business is a business set up and run by its founders primarily with the aim of sustaining a particular level of income; or to provide a foundation from which to enjoy a particular lifestyle. … These are business platforms like affiliate marketing, niche blogging, and other online business ideas and industries.
Now that is a simple definition!
Personally, I believe that a lifestyle business also means you are building a business “around something you are passionate about,” something your whole heart is into.
While I believe you can make a great living blogging and building a business online around anything you want, something you are passionate about always seems to work out faster, and the results tend to be lasting rather than here today, bored and gone tomorrow.
Blogging from the beach house…
Before we look at what makes a niche blog best for building a lifestyle business online, I just want to add one more thing here; knowledge and patience, it is what creates any business, period.
Let’s dive in now…
It is a simple learning curve.
There is a learning curve for everything, trust me, my wife and I are homeschooling parents and the learning curve of math, again, is rather trying some days.
However, what do you really need to know when it comes to getting started in the next 2-3 weeks with an excellent lifestyle business through a niche blog? Well, here is your small list:
- Setting up and working with WordPress
- How to blog and optimize your blog posts
- How to use YouTube and Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest if you want (or all of them)
- Basic understanding of sales funnels
- Basic email marketing
- How to monetize your niche blog
Of course, I am not going to blow smoke up your bum here, some of these can be a little challenging at first, that is why I said this could take a couple two to three weeks to get going, but that is all, and I do not care what you think of your own “learning curve” skills.
Even the basics of search engine optimization can be learned in just a few days, and enough to be pretty dangerous online, and I mean that in a good way! Ha!
And that is why a niche blog makes for a better chance of building a truly successful lifestyle type of business online, it is a content marketing platform, and that is what we all read, listen to, or watch every day, content!
We read blogs, we listen to podcasts on blogs, and we watch some of the videos we like on blogs. Or, we are led back to a blog from any of those types of content.
2-3 weeks, that is all that will be the learning curve for the average person out here looking to build a seriously cool niche blogging lifestyle business for themselves online. With a little bit of help, and coaching, who knows, you could be replacing an income even faster!

You can take your niche blog anywhere.
I was not joking above, I’ve actually blogged while fishing. I really enjoy blogging by the sea in our favorite little town here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and on the porch of our favorite little beach house.
From white sand beaches to the forests of the Pacific Northwest, or a coffee shop in New York, you can run your lifestyle business anywhere as a niche blogger.
And when cool little plugins like Jetpack give you the ability to blog while you are offline from time to time, well, there you go, you can write and create at will, from anywhere, even in a cave apparently.
You and I are mobile, we are not stationary, we are free to work when we want, and where we want today.
Another advantage of niche blogging when it comes to building that lifestyle business online is simply put, you can work (if that is what you call it) wherever you want.
It only takes patience and practice.
Besides the basics of blogging and some internet marketing best practices you can learn as you go, patience and practice are where a successful niche blog and business online will be found.
There is a learning curve if you will, to starting a blog, and the internet marketing skills to go with it. But, if you are patient with it, these things can be learned and applied in just days or a few weeks. And just so you know, they can be mastered in just a few months or so.
When myself and other highly successful blogger, marketers, and online business owners started out, writing blog posts was a bane actually, I was personally at first, not so into it I would say.
But, today, I love blogging, and I love writing!
Not only did the video marketing, email marketing, sales funnels, and other internet marketing training pay off, but I came to love writing content and sales copy for that matter. Of course, it started on article marketing platforms like Ezine, but eventually, it turned into blogging.
Patience and practice were the difference between some extra money online, and a whole new lifestyle. And yes, the income to go with it is what I mean.
Niche blogging takes a little time to learn, and the strategies will need to be learned to be effective here, but it can al be done in a short period of time.
Much more rewarding.
If I have to work a day job, I will. And I can tell you that I am dedicated to doing a great job, even when I was an insurance producer, and earlier in life, a custodian and maintenance guy at a university.
But, having 3 successful niche blogs and online businesses has been more rewarding than any of those earlier jobs. This is not work for me, and it will not be for you either.
How could anyone call this a “job“? You and I write and create content around something we love or somethings in some cases with multiple niche blog owners. Either way, it’s not a job, it’s fun!
And when are content helps or entertains someone and they let us know, well, that is just downright rewarding in and of itself.
Of course, making some money with it is a bonus, and it is a bonus that is really a happy side effect of creating that awesome content that connects with people in the first place.
I’d rather make less money here, than more there. (minimizing stress)
The insurance producing game was stressful. yes, I was practically my own boss, but it still came with a ton of stress.
Like you maybe, I am a pretty relaxed and kicked back individual, although that does not mean I am not passionate about some things and show it when I need to. But, at the end of the day, I try to avoid stress when possible.
Learning to build a successful niche blog and lifestyle business from the comfort of home and anywhere does come with that “learning curve” I mentioned above. And as I have seen through coaching and being coached myself, that can be somewhat stressful at times.
Stress is part of that learning a new skill territory, period. However, it is how we deal with that stress that matters, it is the real destroyer of dreams if you will here.
I have seen people quit, even in my own coaching program because they insisted they would never get this whole “blogging” thing down. Funny thing is, the few this has happened with never really got started at all, they gave up before they even tried.
A lifestyle business based around a great niche blog is not about the 7-figure income, it is about the about generating the kind of income you are wanting or comfortable with.
Yes, it can turn out to be extraordinary, but no matter what, however, give you try and some, it can be at least a job and lifestyle changing business at least.
Building a niche blog is not stressful.
Yes, it can be a little uncomfortable here and there, learning curves usually are. However, learning to build that business using something as powerful as a blog and some other basic marketing skills takes only a small amount of time in the end!
No joke, give the right blog coaching program, you could be extremely dangerous here in just a few weeks or so, seriously, I was.
See, the hardest part of actaully building your niche blogging business is getting past the fact of thinking it is complicated here. Yeah, most people come in thinking they will need some degree in web design and HTML to get started, and that is simply false.
blogging from anywhere.
The biggest hurdle you’ll have here, the most stressful part of building your online business will be you and your mindset. You are your own worst enemy here…
Nothing kills more potentially successful online entrepreneurs than that of boredom with their niche and making things harder than they really are.
Talk about stressful…
Remember, it’s not a company, it’s a blog.
Smart bloggers and online entrepreneurs always have two things in common; 1) they create awesome content, and 2) they love what they do for a living!
This is supposed to be a business, yes, but it is also supposed to be a lifestyle you enjoy, anything but a job!
Keep it simple at first here. Build it, don’t over do it. Do not be too cheap either, get what you need for your blog and business, but only what you need.
Designing your lifestyle business around your…life.
There are many business opportunities out here today, but there are only really a few ways to build them online effectively and a niche blog is one of those best practices.
It makes it easier to build a brand, a business, and the kind of lifestyle and income to go with it that you want.
And remember, a lifestyle, that is what this is all about first and foremost, a lifestyle.
